Notes John Wilfong also served during the Revolution in Col. McDowell's Reg., and later with Gen. Pickens. He married Hannah Sigmon and had children John Wilfong Jr., George David, Mary Magdalena, Susannah Barbara, Sarah Salome, and Elizabeth. "The Kings Mountain Men" by Katherine Keough White, 1924 John Wilfong was born Apr 8, 1762 and died 1838. He enlisted in McDowell's regiment under Capt. Sigman and LT. Van Horn. He was wounded in the left arm at King's Mountain and went home the day after the battle but was at Eutaw. He married Hannah Sigmore (Sigman) and his son John married Lavina Sumay.
