• Notes

  Jacob Link's father is in dispute. The 1880 census of Caldwell County lists his father as being born in Germany, his mother in Pennsylvania. Other sources show he was the son of Hans Adam Linck (born about 1818) and that he was the grandson of Jacobus Linck, born 1693, who arrived at the port of Philadelphia on August 28, 1733 on the ship "Hope" of London, which sailed from Rotterdam, Daniel Reid, master.
