"Original List of Immigrants, 1600 - 1700 by Hotten lists a Richard Bradshaw, age 20, as coming over on the ship Temperence in 1621. He is listed in Virginia on February 16, 1623 and seems to be the earliest Bradshaw in Virginia

    It is said that at least ten thousand Virginians have taken up their residence in Washington since the close of the war; of this number Fredericksburg has furnished her full share, and there was seldom a day during our residence in Washington that we were not greeted by some former resident of the old 'Burg.

    William Bradshaw was listed as one of the headrights (head of household) in Kingswell Colony, a 2,300 acre tract of land that was located on the south side of the York River in Virginia.

    "Cavaliers and Pioneers" by Nell M. Nugent says that Theodore Moses transported 40 people to the new colony and Henry Bradshaw was one of them. Moses received 2,000 acres of land in James City County on May 23, 1637 in payment.
